Max Koplen began servicing the clothing needs of the men in Danville Virginia, and his family kept that tradition going for 4 generations. In the 1930s, Max's son Abe, branched out on his own to expand the Koplen name in the clothing world. He started by selling clothes for the average working man like overalls, work shoes, and even plant bed covers. Eventually Abe transitioned into selling affordable dress clothes for the men in the area. That legacy continued with Abe's son Albert and, Grandson Barry. Abe's has been an institution in the city of Danville for many years. The store prides itself on customer service, making sure that everyone who comes through the doors feels special.
